This Privacy Policy covers how we treat “Personal Data” that we gather when you access or use our Services. “Personal Data” means any information that identifies or relates to a particular individual and also includes information referred to as “personally identifiable information” or “personal information” under applicable data privacy laws, rules, or regulations. This Privacy Policy does not cover the practices of companies we don’t own or control, or people we don’t manage.

Google Login Data

We use Google Account login solely for authentication. We do not integrate with Google Workspace data or store any additional data from your Google Account beyond your basic profile (e.g., email address) needed to register or log in to Whisper Scribe.

We collect Personal Data about you from the following categories of sources:

    • When you provide information directly to us, such as when you create an account, send us an email, or fill out a form. 

    • When you use our Services and such information is collected automatically, including via Cookies (as defined in the Tracking Tools and Opt-Out section below). 

    • If you use a location-enabled browser, we may receive information about your location.

    • Vendors: We may use analytics providers to understand how you interact with the Services or to help provide customer support. 

    • Third-Party Accounts: If you choose to sign in to Whisper Scribe through a third-party service (e.g., your Google account), some information in those accounts may be transmitted to us.

We disclose your Personal Data to service providers and other parties for the business or commercial purposes described in this Privacy Policy. Depending on your state or country of residence, some disclosures may constitute a “sale” of your Personal Data under applicable law.

You are also responsible for choosing a strong password, keeping your credentials secure, and signing out after use. While we work to protect the security of your data, no method of electronic transmission or storage is entirely secure.

We retain Personal Data only as long as necessary for the purposes for which it was collected, or as otherwise required by law. For example:

  • Account data is kept as long as you maintain an account with us. 

  • Payment data is retained as needed for billing or compliance purposes. 

  • Device/IP data is retained to ensure systems function properly. 

  • Transcripts: Since audio files are not stored, only text transcripts generated by OpenAI’s Whisper API may be retained as needed to provide you with the Services (e.g., for retrieval or reference). 

We may retain anonymized or aggregated data (which does not identify you personally) indefinitely.

6. Personal Data of Children

We do not knowingly collect or solicit Personal Data from children under 16 years of age. If you are under 16, please do not attempt to register for or otherwise use the Services. If we learn we have collected Personal Data from a child under 16, we will delete that information as quickly as possible. If you believe a child under 16 may have provided us with Personal Data, please contact us at the email address in the Contact Information section below.

7. Other State Law Privacy Rights

California Resident Rights

Under California Civil Code §§ 1798.83-1798.84, California residents may contact us to prevent disclosure of Personal Data to third parties for direct marketing purposes. To submit such a request, please see Contact Information.

Nevada Resident Rights

If you are a Nevada resident, you have the right to opt out of the sale of certain Personal Data. You can exercise this right by contacting us at the email in the Contact Information section with the subject line “Nevada Do Not Sell Request.”
